Core Focus Areas

We employ a theory of change grounded in the belief that health, housing, workforce equity, small business growth, and community development are foundational pillars of long-term wellbeing and economic justice in disadvantaged communities.

Health Equity
Expanding access to culturally responsive health services, education, and resources that support healing, resilience, and wellness. We strive to protect Medi-Cal for vulnerable communities, ensure that adequate financial resources are invested to improve healthcare outcomes and protect and improve California’s healthcare infrastructure.

Housing Justice
Advocating for safe, stable, affordable housing and pathways to homeownership for communities disproportionately affected by displacement and housing insecurity. Our focus is to ensure that local, state and federal funds are continued to be invested to serve families that continue to struggle with high cost housing.

Workforce Development
Creating equitable pipelines into high-growth industries through training, mentorship, placement, and ongoing support. As communities continue to face high unemployment, we will engage with local, state and federal agencies and with the private sector to create employment opportunities. One of our main focus areas is artificial intelligence and the impact that is having on community jobs and request for these companies to re-invest in our communities to train and employ individuals.

Small Business & Economic Development
Supporting community-owned enterprises and entrepreneurs with capital access, technical assistance, and strategic partnerships to build generational wealth. Create funding opportunities for these small businesses including restaurants.

Community Development & Empowerment
Fostering collective agency, community leadership, and asset-based development that strengthens neighborhood resilience, cultural identity, and civic participation.
